Prof. Brar is PU DUI

Dr Bhupinder Singh Brar, Professor of Political Science at
the Panjab University today has taken over the charge of Dean University Instruction
(DUI).  Prof. Brar is also the Dean Research of the University currently, as well as
Honorary Director of the Indian Council of Social Science Research for northwest India.
Professor Brar has had held positions of co-ordinator of the UGC Special Assistance
Programme as well as coordinator of the Centre for Defence and National Security
Studies at Panjab University.  
Professor Brar combines his interests in political theory and contemporary
international relations to critique dominant discourses of globalization, Indian
foreign policy, South Asia and the former Soviet bloc.
He has published four books and over sixty scholarly and popular articles. The latest,
an edited anthology titled Globalisation and Politics of Identity in India was brought
out by Pearson Longman in early 2008.

He is currently the Editor of Man & Development. He also serves on the editorial
boards of five other journals, including Contemporary Political Theory (Palgrave-
Macmillan, UK).
