PU to host National Seminar on "Minority Rights in India: Problems, Experiences and Apprehensions...

 

Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh would host National Seminar on "Minority Rights in India: Problems, Experiences and Apprehensions” on March 18.

The Department of Political Science, University School of Open Learning (USOL) in collaboration with Centre for the Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy, PU is organizing the one day seminar, which is sponsored by Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi.

The Seminar deliberations and proceedings would focus on the issues of contention and various problems related with religious minorities of India. Faculty Members and Research Scholars from various Universities and educational Institutes of India will also be  participating in the seminar.

Vice- Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, Prof Paramjit S. Jaswal would be the Chief Guest for the Seminar.  Member, National Commission for Minorities, Government of India, Prof Ajaib Singh would be the Guest of Honour. PU, Dean University Instructions, Prof A.K. Bhandari would preside over the Inaugural Session of the Seminar.  

Former Chairperson of National Minority Commission, Government of India and former Member Parliament S. Tarlochan Singh would be the Chief Guest of the Valedictory session. Former Advocate General, Punjab  Government and PU Dean Laws, Sh. G.K Chatrath would preside over and Emeritus Professor in Law, Former PU DSW, Prof V.K. Bansal would chair the Valedictory session.

The objectives and related issues  of the Seminar has attracted the attention of  eminent Scholars, renowned professors and academicians like Prof. A.S. Narang, Prof. Ronki Ram, Prof. Kuldip Singh, Prof A.D. Mishra, Prof. Mohammad Tajuddin, Prof. Matthew Joseph, Prof. Baljit Singh and many other renowned Scholars.
