In a bid to encourage and promote entrepreneurship among young minds, Panjab University will witness an Entrepreneurship Summit, ‘UDYAMI 2016’. UDYAMI is being organized by Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), UIET, Panjab University and will commence from March 18, 2016 till March 20, 2016. The three day event will witness high profile speakers, investors and entrepreneurs. Students too will have plenty in store with competitions like Problemania 3.0, Bid Your Own Company, Tour guide, Plan-o-thon, and many more.

The 3-day event will provide a platform for students, experienced investors and entrepreneurs to make the concept of an indigenous business and its associated pros and cons familiar to them in an interactive way. The main focus will be on fostering the start-up ecosystem of this developing nation by engaging with the country's youth through a plethora of events that include workshops, competitions, panel discussions and networking sessions.

With an expected turnaround of entrepreneurs, researchers, investors and students, bridging this gap between a start-up and mentors has never been easier. The event hence is a great opportunity to create an ambience for start-ups and new ideas.

Many speakers like Mr. Samar Singla (Founder of Jugnoo), Mr. Bahubali Shete( ‎Founder CEO & MD-Connovate Technology), Mr. Vijay Gopalan(ex-Air Asia CFO) and Mr. Srikanth Sundararajan(Venture Partner-Helion Ventures) will share their experience with participants.

UDYAMI 2016 also brings a 3-day unique ‘Start-up of the event’ in which the start-ups will get a chance to pitch and validate their ideas by common people. They get to promote their start-up as well as convince people participating in the event to cast their vote in a ballot box.

An Internship Fair is also being held which aims at connecting startup enthusiasts to the startups so that they get the relevant experience in their desired field both technical and non-technical.
