Admission Notice for MDS at Dr. HS Judge Dental Institute, Last Date is May 31, 2016

 

Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh has invited applications for admission to Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) at Dr. HS Judge Dental Institute, Sector 25, PU Campus Chandigarh.

The candidates, who have cleared the All India PG Dental Entrance Examination (AIPGDE) have been invited to apply in person on May 31, 2016 upto 4 PM at PU Dental Institute along with all the original documents and the result card of the AIPGDE. The decision has been taken in pursuance of Punjab & Haryana High Court orders dated May 30, 2016 passed in LPA 939-2016, which has permitted the University to go ahead with MDS admission and complete the entire process by May 31, 2016.

MDS course would have 17 seats in six specialties namely Oral Pathology & Oral Microbiology, Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics, Periodontics and Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge. The Oral Pathology & Oral Microbiology course has been added this year.

The candidates have to apply with their certificates and result of all India post graduate Dental entrance examination. The fee has to be deposited on May 31 at the time of admission.

The selected candidates would be paid a monthly stipend during the entire duration of MDS course at PU.

List of provisionally eligible candidates would be displayed at Dental Institute website on May 31 after 5 PM. The counselling for MDS (all categories) would be conducted on the same day ie May 31.

Due to timelines fixed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, for admissions to MDS in Dr. Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital for academic year 2016- 17, there shall be only one counselling on May 31 for seats in PU this year.

It may be recalled that Dr Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences was established in April 2006 under the aegis of PU. The Institute aims at providing quality oral health care facilities to the general public and training to the students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. As part of the CRIKC, the institute is also doing extensive research in collaboration with many institutes like PGIMER, GMCH-32 etc.
