-     To prepare students develop skills, utilize education resources.

A national seminar on “Optimum utilization of resources for
education: Institutions and community” sponsored by the special assistance programme
of the University Grants Commission (UGC) will be organised by the department of
education of the Panjab University (PU) at the Golden Jubilee hall on the campus on
March 7.

    The seminar convener Dr Latika Sharma of the department of education, PU,
informed that the seminar is an initiative taken by the Panjab University to prepare
the students with attitude, mindset and skills for integrating their knowledge with
local resources which will also send strong signals to the community for collaborative
approach, a precursor to sustainable development.     

    The sub-themes of the seminar will be: Public Private Participation in
Education; Exploring avenues for collaborative approach in solving problems of
education; Optimising on institutional and community resources for education;
Community College: Concept and Practicability; Capacity building among community women
through institutional outreach and Right to Education: Institutional and Managerial
Concerns.
