Soch 2011 from 2nd Ц 4th November 2011

 

CHANDIGARH: 14 October 2011: School of Communication Studies (SCS)  , Panjab
University, today launched the theme song and the video for its much awaited and
celebrated media fest Soch 2011 at the conference hall of SCS.  The media fest Soch
2011  is scheduled to be held from 2nd – 4th November 2011. Although the media fest is
in its fifth year and has only grown bigger and better with each passing year , this
is the first time that the students of the department have innovated the concept of
launching the theme song and a promotional video for the fest. The song and the video
are based on the theme ‘Get Guts Going’ which is the theme for the fest this year.

The video is an initiative to inspire and encourage the students to participate in the
fest. A students’ initiative the video is directed and produced by Sukhjeet Singh from
MMC(II) and features Vivek Saini , a student from MMC (I). The song has been written
by  Bhuvnesh Shrama and SabaNaaz Bali , students from the School of Communication
Studies and composed by Ankur , a student from Department of Theology.

Dr. Archana R.Singh, Chairperson, School Of Communication Studies, released the CD of
the theme song. Congratulating the students on their innovative effort, Dr.Singh
said , “ It is a novel idea and an excellent step taken by the students. I wish them
all the luck and hope that Soch 2011 is going to be a huge success even this year,
with the efforts of the students.” Also present on the occasion Professor Jayanth N.
Pethkar, said, “It is really an innovative concept put forth by the students and we
all appreciate their efforts. Like every year we hope to make Soch 2011 a grand
success with a plethora of events lined up for the three day fiesta.”
