Seminar on Women In India: Emerging Issues of Lives, Livelihoods and Sustainable

 

CHANDIGARH: 31 October 2011: The Department-cum-Centre for Women’s Studies and
Development, Panjab University, Chandigarh is organising a UGC sponsored National
Seminar on Women In India: Emerging Issues of Lives, Livelihoods and Sustainable
Development on November 1-2, 2011 in the ICSSR Complex, Panjab University Chandigarh.

    Participants from Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and
Punjab would be deliberating on issues of women’s lives, livelihoods and sustainable
development. The major issues of concern which would be debated here include female
foeticide, violence against women, violence of development, poverty, problems of
indigenous women, rural women, women in conflict zones and so on.
