SOCH 2011 kicks off
CHANDIGARH: 01 November 2011: The three-day Media Fest Soch of School of Communication
Studies (SCS), Panjab University is officially starting tommorrow at Law auditorium at
10 a.m. Media Advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab, Mr. Harcharan Bains, would be
the guest of Honour and famous Punjabi singer Jasbir Jassi is going to be the special
guest. For the first time in its history of four years, about 70 students from across
the nation are participating in the events.
The current batch of the SCS has come up with the theme 3G (get guts going). All the
events, taking place will be based on the 3G theme. The events are categorized with
3G’S GOLMAAL, GLIMMER and GENIUS.
On the first day of the fest i.e. November 2, following events will be taking place:
Freeze it (photography competition) at 11.30 am
Rang De (Graffiti) at 11.30 am
Freaking Frequency (Radio Programming) at 11.30 am
Mind on Fire (Creative Writing) at 12 noon
Mouth Play (Mute Commentary) at 12.30
Diffusion of Innovation (ad making for fictitious) at 2 pm
Shor Gali (Street Play) at 3 pm
Dancing Shoes (Dance Competition) at 7 pm in Law Auditorium
Day two; 3rd Nov:
Colour Me Wild (Face and t-shirt painting)
Mind Buzzers (Media Quiz)
Gone in 90 seconds (extempore)
Blueprint (designing ads for print media)
Living Lenses (Documentary Screening)
On Stage (Skit competition)
Cultural Night
Day three; 4th Nov:
Panel Discussion
Eye donation Camp
Prize Distribution and Valedictory Function
