CHANDIGARH: 02 November 2011: In order to create awareness regarding the traffic
rules, a Poster Making Competition was organized in the Department in U.I.L.S. on 2nd
Nov, 2011. The students enthusiastically participated in the competition and displayed
their creative skills for writing slogans as well as painting the animated characters
in multiple colours. It was very unusual to see the lawyers creatively occupied and
being at their thinking best. There were about 50 entries for the competition. This
was
coordinated under the leadership of Dr. Gulshan Kumar, Asstt. Prof. in Economics. He
said, “We have taken this initiative so that the students learn and spread awareness
about traffic rules among their peer group. It is always better that the movement is
started from the students themselves. We are going to organize a traffic awareness
week in the month of January, 2012.” A cash prize of Rs. 1000/- was awarded to Mr.
Mandeep Singh who stood first in the competition while Rs. 750/- was awarded  to Ms.
Astha Ray for securing 2nd position and Rs. 500/- to Mr. Rajdeep Singh and Ms. Nandini
Aggarwal for being 3rd in the competition, Prof. Sangita Bhalla , Director, UILS
