CHANDIGARH- July 27, 2012: Bhai Ghanaya Ji Institute of Health (BGJIH), Panjab
University will be celebrating World Hepatitis Day on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 7.45
a.m. at its premises. Professor Yogesh Chawla, Director, PGIMER, Chandigarh and
Professor A.K. Bhandari, Registrar, Panjab University will flag off the Marathon run
in which about 150 plus PU students and employees will actively participate. Lectures
by PGI faculty consisting of Prof. Yogesh Chawla, Dr. R.K. Dhiman and Dr. Ajay Duseja
of Department of Hepatology, PGI to create awareness among the masses on Hepatitis B
and C will be delivered. There will be free distribution of T-shirts, caps with
Hepatitis awareness logos, literature, coupons for testing for hepatitis B & C and
light refreshments to the participants. Prof. P.S. Jaswal, Vice-Chancellor, Rajiv
Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala will be the guest of honour. The function
is held under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Devinder Dhawan, Chief Medical Officer of
the BGJIH. Dr. Rakesh Khullar, Additional Chief Medical Officer, BGJIH and Organizing
Secretary of the function informed.
