University held a curtain raiser event on Wednesday manifesting its technical fest
Aavishkar12 being held on 15-16th October in UIET, Panjab University premises. The
entire media fraternity attended the event which was flagged off by the Aavishkar
presentation encompassing its diverse features followed by the official announcement of
the fest. Addressing the assemblage, Prof. Renu Vig, Director, UIET lauded the conveners
of the fest, Karan Kumar & Ishita Ray and the faction of students associated, on the
relentless and dynamic effort they put into the prelude of the fest.
In her speech, she put great emphasis on the need to promote technical zeal among the
youth and appealed to them to develop a penchant for knowledge. With these words, she
officially set the wheels of ‘Aavishkar12’ in motion.
The organizing secretary, Prof. Sunil Agarwal gave spirited and unceasing
round-the-clock assistance to the students. He launched the website of ‘Aavishkar’ and
revealed the official T-shirts of the fest.
The piece de resistance, PU Idea Catalyst being held from 12-14th October was also made
public. This event is an entrepreneurial workshop aimed at edifying and nurturing the
enterprising skills of the students. During the entire duration of the event, the
mentors, who are mostly CEOs/co- founders of various corporates will give a clear
picture of the assorted facets of being an entrepreneur to the participants.
In order to foster the creativity and technical deftness of the students, a theme-based
poster-making/painting competition, ’STYLIZE AAVISHKAR’ was also held in the college
premises which received an overwhelming response from varied colleges.A palpable
feverishness was present in the atmosphere as the students could be seen in a frenzy
painting assiduously. The most enamouring paintings were given attractive rewards.
The technical fest of UIET, Panjab University,’ Aavishkar’ contains a plethora of events
for college as well as school students.  It comprises events such as Robowars, Robo
Rally, CSI: UIET, The Rising, Mindboggle: The Quiz and many more which would require
intellect of the highest order. The south campus of Panjab University is currently in a
high state of anticipation as the students are eagerly looking forward to one of the
most coveted technical fests of the northern region. In a nutshell, this event should
definitely not be missed!!!
