Professor Arun Kumar Gover, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University will inaugurate the
exhibition on October 16, 2012 at 11.00 a.m. at the Museum of Arts, P.U. Campus.
Dr. Tirthankar Bhattacharya, Chairman of the Department of Art History & Visual Arts
informed that creative expressions are precious like jewels. They are more so when they
acquire the vintage status. Curating a show of vintage art works from a collection of
fifty years is a difficult task. Not only the problem of selection had to be solved by
Dr. Bhattacharya as the curator, had also to take care of the charm of the nostalgic
aura which the viewer of such a show will like to experience. While going around the
galleries, the viewers might not only share a sense of belongings to the wonder that was
once there, but will also discover that numerous visual thoughts have been stilled in
time. They will definitely go beyond the optical sight to have a wonderful aesthetic
experience. That has what has been his presentational proposition. They salute the
master artists who are present in the show through their creative expressions.
