First, International Conference of Physical Education and Sports Sciences
under the aegis of International Forum of Physical Education and Sports
Sciences (IFPESS-2012) was inaugurated in Panjab Univesity, by Mr. Pawan
Kumar Bansal, Hon’ble Minister of Parliament Affairs and Water Resources,
S. Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Hon’ble Finance Minister and Planning, Panjab
were the Chief Guest and the guest of honour on this occasion respectively.
          Vice-chancellor- Prof. Arun Kumar Grover, Dean University
Instruction Prof. R.K.Kohli, Dean Student Welfare – Prof. Ahluwalia and
Dean Faculty of Education were also present on the occasion. This is the
first time in the history of Panjasb University that an international
conference is being organised. This is all due to the efforts of Dr.
Gurmeet Singh Chairperson Department of Physical Education that more than
25 foreign delegates are participating in it . This will continue for three
days. More than 50 papers were presented by the national and international
speakers on day one. The theme of the conference is Health, Physical
Education, Sports and Wellness in Schools and Community: A Holistic and
Innovative Approach.
