The International Conference on Strategic Marketing of Consumer and
Technology Products (ICSMCTP 2010) commenced on December 10, 2010 at the
Auditorium of PU Regional Centre, Ludhiana.
Prof Deepak Kapur, Director, PU Regional Centre, Ludhiana and Dean,
Faculty of Business Management and Commerce, PU, Chandigarh welcomed the
Chief Guest, other dignatories and participants and introduced the theme
of the conference. He emphasised the importance of understanding the
differences in the marketing of technology products vis-a-vis consumer
products. Prof Sunil K Gupta was the Chief Guest at the inauguration
ceremony. Prof Ashok P Arora of Management development Institute, Gurgaon
was the Key Note speaker. Dr Satish Sharma, Prinicpal DAV College,
Jalandhar was the Guest of Honor.
Principal of colleges in Ludhiana and senate members of PU Chandigarh were
also present.
The Technical sessions thereafter were chaied / co chaired by
Technical Session 1: Prof Satish Kapoor (Former Chairman, University
Business School Chandigarh)and Mr Sandeep Bedi (Zonal Head, mahindra and
mahindra Financial Services)
Technical Session 2: Professor Sandeep Kapoor (PAU Ludhiana) and Dr
Tejinder Sharma (Kurukshetra University)
Technical Session 3: Dr Prem Kumar (Executive Director, Rayat Bahra Group)
and Dr Ashwani Bhalla (SCD Government College, Ludhiana)
Technical Session 4: Prof A K Saihjpal (Former Director UIAMS, PU
Chandigarh) and Dr R L Behl (Principal, Aurobindo College, Ludhiana)
Technical Session 5: Professor Ashok Pratap Arora (MDI Gurgaon)and Mr
Vishal jain (executive Director, NEVA Garments limited, ludhiana).
After the technical sessions, a cultural event was organised where Punjabi
Songs were sung by renowned singers. Dr Jasbir Kaur Makkar, Prinicpal of
SCD Government College, Ludhiana was the Chief Guest. Dr Jagpal Singh,
Senator of PU Chandigarh and Dr Mukesh Arora, senator of PU were the
Guests of Honor.
The Conference shall continue tomorrow with its technical sessions. In the
afternoon, there shall be a valedictory function.
