CHANDIGARH-May 03, 2013:The National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee and the Department
of Zoology, Panjab University, Chandigarh is organizing a Brain Storming Session on the
“Conservation and Management of Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh” on Tuesday, May 7, 2013. Sh.
Santosh Kumar, Chief Wildlife Warden and Conservator of Forests, Chandigarh
Administration will be the Chief Guest and Er. R.D. Singh, Director, National Institute
of Hydrology shall preside over the inaugural session. Prof. M.S. Johal from Department
of Zoology, P.U., Chandigarh, Dr. S.S. Grewal, President, Society for Promotion and
Conservation of Environment (SPACE), Chandigarh and Dr. Suhas Khobragade, Scientist-D,
NIH, Roorkee will be the prominent people who will be sharing their views on various
aspects of Sukhna Lake. The recommendations formed after deliberations of this special
session will be given to concerned agencies for implementation.
