Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Mr. Oscar Fernandes has described Panjab
University (PU) Chandigarh as “a temple of learning”. 
Mr. Fernandes was on a visit to PU here today, where he put these comments on the PU
Visitor’s Book. Panjab University (PU) Vice Chancellor, Prof. Arun K. Grover along with
Registrar, Prof. A.K. Bhandari, Dean University Instruction, Prof. Madhu Raka, Advisor
and Secretary to Vice Chancellor, Mr. R. L. Kapoor and other officers welcomed Mr.
Fernandes at the PU Guest House. Prof. Grover presented a set of books to Mr.
Fernandes.
While discussing various issues with the PU Vice Chancellor and other PU Officers, Mr
Fernandes assured all support to the University. He asked the PU Officers to provide a
note on the pending issues with the Government of India.
Earlier talking to Mr. Fernandes, Prof. Grover informed him about the PU achievements,
its legacy and rich heritage. He said that the PU is one of the oldest Universities of
the Country and it got developed in four phases.
