Dr.Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital, Panjab University
(PU), Chandigarh today started the two day long ‘Oral Health Awareness’ drive at the PU
campus.
The first day of Oral Health Awareness Drive- ‘Marching Towards Sparkling Smiles’ kicked
off with great fervor.
More than 400 students, interns and faculty of the Institute participated in the balloon
rally, which was flagged off from the Institute. It was a visual treat to watch the
budding dentists marching across the South Campus of the Panjab University on to the
main campus, led by Dental Institute Principal, Dr. Ashish Jain. Despite the scorching
heat, the enthusiasm of the participants could be appreciated in their energetic march.
The participants were raising oral health awareness slogans, the echo of those high
pitched slogans could be heard across the PU campus. The march ended at the Student
Centre of the University.
The interns of the Institute enacted an informative street play at the Student Centre on
the importance of oral hygiene, demerits of tobacco and related products.
Free toothpaste samples and oral health care pamphlets were distributed amongst the
spectators. The colorful balloons which were carried throughout the rally were later
released to mark the celebrations.
Later in the day a colorful Rangoli competition was conducted in the premises of the
Institute, in which there was spirited participation by the students and the interns.
The day ended on a high note in anticipation of the day-2 celebrations at the Dental
College campus.
