Panjab University (PU), would organise 6th Panjab University Rose Festival from February 6 to 8, 2015. PU Registrar Col. G.S. Chadha (Retd.) inaugurated the Rose Festival Secretariat. He also released the schedule and various competitions for the Rose Festival. PU Rose Festival will be a three days event. The festival will be inaugurated by the PU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Arun Kumar Grover on February 6. The festival will have Flower Competition on first day. The first day of the event will have Fashion Show by PU Department of Fashion & Lifestyle Technology and performance by Rock Band from 7 PM onwards. On second day i.e. February 7, competitions of Singing, Rose Quiz, Rangoli, Collage Making & Slogan Writing for school, college and University Students as well as general public would be held. The second day of the event would feature Laughter Show and Play by PU Department of Indian Theatre in the evening. On third day i.e. February 8, competitions of Poetic Recitation, Rose Prince/Princess, Dancing, Mehandi, Face Painting, Painting, Fancy Dress would be held. A Star Night would take place on third day of the festival in the evening. Stalls would also be put up at the festival, where the occupants can find an excellent opportunity to showcase their products and services which would get vast publicity due to huge gatherings expected at the festival like previous years. For entertainment of small children, amusement park and gaming zones would be set up. PU Divisional Engineer (Hort.), Er. Anil Thakur informed that with the inauguration of the 6th Panjab University Rose Festival, forms of the various competitions are made available at the Festival Secretariat at Single Window Enquiry, Near Post Office, Panjab University, Sector-14, Chandigarh. Entries for all competitions except Photography Competition will be accepted upto 5 PM one day before the competition. The inauguration was attended by Executive Engineer, Manager Press, Director Public Relations, members of Organising Committee of the Rose Festival and teaching and non-teaching staff, students and general public.
