The Department of Biotechnology, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh today organised the National Symposium on “Communicable and Non-communicable diseases: Latest Therapeutic Interventions” sponsored by DST-PURSE. The symposium was inaugurated by the PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Arun Kumar Grover and various eminent scientists shared their views with the participants. In the inaugural address CSIR-IGIB, New Delhi, Dr. Neeru Saini spoke about the roles of miRNAs in cancer and cholesterol related disorders. PGIMER, Chandigarh Dr. Baljinder Singh discussed the role of nuclear medicine in diagnostics and therapeutics for cancer. IISER, Mohali, Dr. Sharvan Sehrawat described immunomodulation during viral infections. Dr. Anju Shrivastava from Delhi University, Delhi elaborated interactions between tumor cells and macrophages. Dr. Arunika Mukhopadhaya from IISER, Mohali discussed pros and cons of therapeutic against gastroenteric diseases in the concluding talk. { Conferences/Seminar/Lecture} |
