Panjab University (PU) Campus placement drive ‘AVSAR 2015’ would be organised on March 19 and 20 at Dr. S.S. Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology (SSB UICET), PU campus.

           The placement drive AVSAR is being organised by PU Central Placement Cell and the Panjab University Student Council in collaboration with SSB UICET. It will be planned according to specific job types catering to the clear academic clusters of the University Teaching Departments (UTDs). Students graduating in the year 2015 from various departments of PU and its regional centers are eligible to be a part of the event.

          In year 2014, AVSAR was conducted over 3 days in March, 2014. More than 30 organisations participated in the drive and around 170 students got placed.

          Since the inception of AVSAR-2015, around 1,500 students have registered. Various leading companies like Eicher, Ind-swift, infomaths, Tata AIG Insurance, Azim Premji Foundation, The Schoolhouse, Megrisoft,  Perkin Elmer, Magbro Healthcare and HT have confirmed their participation so far.

          In the Current Session around 850 PU students have been placed in various Departments. 11 students have been placed in Aakash Education Private limited.

          AVSAR 2015 also has a website dedicated to students' placements. This dedicated website is loaded with up-to-date information on the proceedings and developments of the drive, acts as an interactive portal between the employers and the employable. The well - planned and user-friendly web portal has not only helped the employers and the students register themselves, but it has also assisted the students in preparing for interviews.

          The drive will provide a platform linking employers with potential employees and will take special care to prepare students for interviews by organizing special training sessions taken by the industry experts. To optimize the skills of the students, the university will organize an exclusive one-day interactive workshop wherein the HR (Human Resource) Heads of some leading organizations will be invited to guide the students.

          To make the event a grand success, a number of student volunteers have been deputed to assist the employers' teams on the days of the placement in order to make the process as productive and positive as possible. Not only that, the visiting organizations will be  provided all facilities to conduct pre-placement talks and written tests, well furnished rooms to conduct interviews and group discussions, video conferencing facilities and to those coming from distant places, accommodation in the university guest houses.

        The authorities feel that the drive hosted by UIAMS for the last 3 years was a big success as all the participating students and visiting employers appreciated the efforts of the student coordinators and the logistics support provided. This year, an all - out effort would be made by SSBUICET to maintain and improve the high standards of AVSAR so that all the participating students and companies do not face any problem whatsoever. The drive is one of its kind where maximum students satisfactorily get quality placement. The university is looking forward to maximum placements this year.
