Panjab University (PU) Alumnus and former UGC Chairperson, Padma Bhushan Prof Yash Pal would deliver the first Prof B.M. Anand Memorial lecture on April 10 at 10.30 AM at the PU Physics Auditorium. The Department of Physics, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh is organising the Prof B.M. Anand Memorial lecture. Prof Yash Pal would deliver the Memorial lecture on the topic of “Learning to do Physics with Bal Mokand Anand”. PU Vice Chancellor, Prof Arun Kumar Grover would preside over the function. Dedication ceremony of Prof B.M Anand Auditorium would also be organised on the occasion. Professor Bal Mokand Anand had played a pivotal role in shaping the PU Department of Physics. He was head of the Physics Department after the partition of the country from March 1, 1954 till his retirement on November 10, 1967. He had participated in landmark discoveries in particle physics like experimental observation of Top quark, Quark-gluon Plasma and Higgs boson. Professor B.M.
