Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh today started the admission process for various courses and programs in the PU Campus. The University today notified the admission notice for academic session 2015-16. PU Dean University Instructions (DUI), Prof AK Bhandari today launched the Handbook of Information. Prof Bhandari informed that the University has started new courses like MDS (Master in Dental Surgery), LL.M at University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS) and PURC, Ludhiana and M.E. Biotechnology at University Institute of Engineering & Technology (UIET). He informed that all the students related information like number of seats, are available in the Handbook of Information, which can be purchased on payment from the PU Sale Counter or can be downloaded from PU website. On this occasion, PU Director Public Relations, Mr Vineet Punia said that the University is expecting huge response for the admissions as large numbers of students from all parts of the country were putting enquiries regarding admission process at PU. PU is offering number of Postgraduate, Undergraduate, Diploma and Certificate courses for the academic session 2015-2016. Application form for Admission for all courses {except for Ist Year Classes of the courses where admission is based on JEE-2015, P.U.-CET-2015-(UG), PUTHAT-2015 & P.U.-B.A./B. Com. LL.B. (Hons.) 5 Year Integrated Course-2015} for PU Campus and its Regional Centres at Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, Kauni and Muktsar can be downloaded from http://forms.puchd.ac.in/forms/20150529121831-admission-form-2015.pdf. Interested Students including those, who have already applied for Entrance Test in May/June 2015, would be required to submit their admission/application forms for all Under Graduate and Post Graduate Courses by June 29 in the concerned PU Departments/Regional Centre irrespective of the declaration of the result of qualifying exam/Entrance Test. The last date to apply for Diploma & Certificate courses would be July 15. Handbook of Information and Rules for Admission-2015 is available online at www.pu.ac.in. It is also available at Sale Counter, Administrative Block (Basement) Panjab University, Chandigarh, on cash payment of Rs. 550/- and by Post from the Manager, Publication Bureau, P.U., Chandigarh – 160 014 against account payee Bank Draft of Rs.660/- drawn in favour of the Registrar, Panjab University, payable at Chandigarh. The Applicants for the 1st year of any course are advised to purchase a copy of Handbook of Information to acquaint themselves with the Rules and Regulations and other details of the Course. Candidates desirous of applying for admission to University Teaching Departments for the session 2015-2016 may also download admission form from P.U. Website www.puchd.ac.in free of cost. However, those finally admitted, will be charged Rs. 60/- as cost of admission form along with admission fees. Candidates seeking admission in Sports category shall, along with Admission Form, will submit various documents to the concerned Department and the concerned Department will send the photocopy of the application form, after paging all the documents received from the eligible candidates to the Directorate of Sports. The candidates would be required to appear for trial in a proper sports kit along with their original sports certificates on University Grounds as per schedule between July 15 to 18.
