Panjab University Alumni Association (PUAA) today honoured PU alumna and noted film actress Ms Baljinder Kaur at PU Golden Jubilee Hall. PU Vice Chancellor (VC), Prof Arun Kumar Grover honoured Ms Baljinder Kaur at the Scholarship Award function and Annual General Body Meeting of the PUAA.

Ms Baljinder Kaur has recently received the Best Supporting Actress Awards at the 62^nd National Film Awards from the President of India Sh. Pranab Mukherjee. She received prestigious Rajat Kamal and Rs. 50,000/- for her role in Haryanavi Film ‘Pagdi the Honour’. Senior Journalist and Resident Editor of leading English daily, Mr Robin David and number of PU Fellows and PU Alumni also attended the function.

Addressing the function, Ms Baljinder Kaur thanked the PU VC Prof Grover for honouring and motivating her. She also thanked her Professors in the Department of Indian Theatre, Mahendra Kumar, Rani Balbir Kaur and Neelam Mansingh Chowdhary. She said that base is always main thing and she got her base in PU, where she learnt the nuances of acting.

Addressing the function, PU VC Prof Grover congratulated Ms Baljinder Kaur for the achievement.
