Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh has extended the last date for submission of admission forms to Semester I of Five year Integrated (BA+MA) Honours programme at PU-ISSER (PU Institute of Social Sciences Education and Research). The 10+2 pass students having 55 percent marks can apply at the Department of History, Arts Block-II, PU by July 30, 2015. The merit list would be displayed on July 30 by 6 PM at the Department of History and the counselling/interview would be conducted on July 31 at 9.30 AM at the Department of History and the physical presence of the candidates is essential for being considered for the admission. They should come with all the original documents and testimonials. The list of selected candidates would be displayed on August 3. The submission of fee would be from August 6 to 10, 2015. The classes would be commence in the mid of August. PU Spokesman informed that the admissions would be based on the marks in the 10+2 class. There are 10 seats for the NRI/International students and 50 seats for Indian students. The reservation will be as per the PU policy wherein 55.5% seats are for open, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, 5% for BC, 3% for Physically Handicapped, 5% for Military Personnel, 5% for Sports, 2% Riot Victims and 2% for Freedom Fighters. There will be no further reservations for the students on the basis of their domicile state. Additional seats for Kashmiri Migrant, Single Girl Child, Cancer, AIDS and Thalessemia Patient will also be there as per the PU policy. The additional weightage of 10% in calculation of merit would be given to the candidates, who have studied Social Sciences in 10+2. The fee for Integrated Five year Honours programme at PU-ISSER would be Rs. 10,000 per annum in two instalments plus other University charges. The 3 year BA Honours and 2 year MA Honours programme, has an exit option after 3 years.
