The Department of Geography, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh today organized a special lecture and book released at the ICSSR Complex.

Former Vice-Chancellor, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture & Technology Udaipur, Professor S.S. Chahal, delivered a Lecture on the theme ‘Natural Resource Management under changing climate and Food Security’. Chairperson, Professor Ravinder Kaur welcomed and introduced the dignitaries.

Prof. Chahal highlighted the issued and concerns for food security in India. He emphasized that it is important to adapt to climate resilient techniques since food production activities contribute to climate change as well as affected by changing climate.

This was followed by the book release of ‘History of Geographic Thoughts’ authored by revered Professor G.S. Gosal. The book was posthumously published by PU and released by Vice-Chancellor, PU, Prof. Arun K. Grover.

Former Vice-Chancellor,  Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Prof. J.S. Grewal  shared his reminisces about revered Prof. G.S. Gosal and Prof. Gopal Krishan, Professor Emeritus Department of Geography, PU introduced the book to the audience.
