Seminar on entrepreneurship for budding managers

 


CHANDIGARH, February 10: The seminar on “Entrepreneurship” organised by University
Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS) of the Panjab University (PU) and
conducted by NSIC (National Small Industries Corporation Ltd.) concluded on the
campus.  

    The MBA programme of UIAMS has been designed according to the industrial and
sector specific needs. The UIAMS offers management programmes in different managerial
disciplines like MBA (Retail Management, Banking and Insurance Management, IT and
Telecomm Management, Infrastructural Management, Pharmaceutical Management and
Hospital Management). All these six sectors are developed to deliver specialists in
different aspects of industry.  

    Mr A.K. Verma, chief-manager and Mr Anurag Singh Charan, deputy manager of the
NSIC focused on need of entrepreneurship in Indian economy. They told different
concepts for starting a business like need of finance, resources, manpower, marketing
and most important monitoring all these aspects.

    Mr Anurag Singh gave an idea about various schemes and programmes being
offered to new entrepreneurs for starting SME’s and their training programmes.
Mr Vishal Sood from Crisil also accompanied them and told about their credit rating
and fund rating schemes given by them to SME’s to show competency in this competitive
environment. The NSIC would also provide training to our students during summer
internship on entrepreneurship development programme (EDP).

    Crisil would also consider the students for summer internship and for final
placements. A long term relationship is likely to be matured for future ventures for
the same purpose. So we look forward for different opportunities provided by them in
training and final placements of our students, informed Amandeep Singh Marwaha,
