The Computer Centre has been renamed as "Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Computer Centre" on 27th July 2016 in the memory of Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former President of India. The renaming event was inaugurated by Dr. Manjit Singh, Director, TBRL-DRDO, Chandigarh in the presence of Professor Arun Kumar Grover, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University. 

To mark the death anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Dr.  Manjit Singh shared his memories and experiences while working on various projects with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
