An advanced Training Workshop on“Qualitative Methods & Techniques in Social Science Research” will be held from March 7-18,2011 at the ICSSR Complex, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Professor Bhupinder Brar, Honorary Director ICSSR NWRC and Dean University Instruction, P.U. said that the present workshop aims at providing a general understanding of the nature and relevance of qualitative research methods. It introduces participants to the essential principles, techniques and processes of qualitative research. In doing so, it deals with various theoretical and methodological issues involved in such inquiry as well as the strategies and techniques such as research design, methods of qualitative data collection, coding and analysis involved in empirical field research.
Shri P.K. Saini, Deputy Director, said that the Regional Centre has been conducting such training workshops every year. The positive feedback received from the participants over the past several years has encouraged us to conduct the workshop this year third time. The participants will be young teachers and research scholars working in University Departments, Research Institutions and affiliated Colleges located in the state of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
Professor Shalina Mehta and Dr. Pampa Mukherjee. from the Panjab University, are the Programme Coordinators.
The Programme will begin on March 7,2011. at 10.00 a.m. in the ICSSR Complex on the Panjab University Campus Chandigarh
